The Treasury has published terms of reference for the Poynter Review, which will investigate security processes and procedures for data handling in HMRC. The Chancellor told the Commons about the review on 20 November 2007. Read more

Approved UK custodian and UK intermediaries list

HMRC have issued an updated list of approved UK custodians and intermediaries.  The list will be of interest to those (mostly securities dealers) who pay or receive manufactured overseas dividends.  It gives additions and deletions and then the entire list.  It will be updated periodically.

I received a leaflet about a LexisNexis conference on Thursday 28th February 2008 on “Identifying planning opportunities for non-domiciles, inheritance and capital gains tax and exploiting the transitional rules for trusts”.  It will include a “PBR update”
