Consumer Price Indices - May 2008

The consumer price indices for May 2008 have been released by the Office for National Statistics.

 

The key points from the latest release are:

  • In the year to May, the consumer prices index (CPI) rose by 3.3 per cent, up from 3.0 per cent in April
  • In the year to May, the all items retail prices index (RPI) rose by 4.3 per cent, up from 4.2 per cent in April
  • Over the same period, the all items RPI excluding mortgage interest payments index (RPIX) rose by 4.4 per cent, up from 4.0 per cent in April
